Where things stand
The iOS app is on the App Store. The vault opens in phases, and the card list is published before it opens to you. Any specific card you see on this site, like the Charizard on the homepage, is a demo scan and not live inventory.
1 · Scan your binder
Point the camera at a card and it files itself into your archive. Recognition runs on the phone, and you don't need an account to start. Every card gets its own page with the printing, the condition you record and the date you logged it. Market values are attributed to TCGplayer. Treat them as estimates, not appraisals. You can sort the archive by set, rarity or value.
Cards you are still hunting go on a wanted list. They sit in the archive as ghost tiles marked WANTED until you scan the real thing.
2 · Trade card for card
Trades happen between collectors in the Trade tab. There are no listings and no cart. You offer cards for cards, the other collector accepts or declines, and the trade moves through states you can see at every step: proposed, accepted, in transit, received, complete. Each trade shows a balance score, which is a ratio of quoted values. It's there to inform you. It isn't advice. HoloHunt has no selling.
Trading by mail with someone you haven't met takes some care. How to Trade Cards Safely covers photos, packing and what to do when a trade goes sideways.
3 · Rip a pack
Packs cost stamps. The HoloHunt Pack is 300 stamps, which is $3, and holds five real cards drawn at random from the vault, anywhere from common to secret rare. Before you pay, the pack screen shows the odds for every slot, tier by tier. Those odds are pinned to your receipt, so the numbers you read are the numbers the open used. Nothing in a pack is guaranteed.
Stamps are HoloHunt's prepaid store credit. 500 stamps cost $5, and bundles cost less per stamp: 1,200 for $10, 3,200 for $25, 6,500 for $50. You buy them through Stripe checkout in your browser, and anything you don't spend stays in your Stamp Book. Stamps buy packs and shipping. They never turn into cash and they can't move between accounts.
Special packs (holiday drops, event packs, limited runs) and premium packs come after launch. Each will show its own odds before you pay, the same way. For a walk through the odds screen itself, read Pack Odds Explained.
4 · Hold it, trade it back, or ship it
Every card you pull is one specific physical card with its own slot in the vault. It is recorded under your name with the condition grade it got at intake, and you see that grade before you act on the card. Then it's your call, one card at a time:
- Hold it. The card stays in the vault under your name. Holding is free.
- Trade it back. The card goes back into circulation and you get stamps toward your next pack. The app shows the stamp amount before you confirm, and a trade-back is final once you do.
- Ship it. The card leaves the vault for good and goes in the mail to the address you give. Shipping is done by hand at first. Cost and timing are confirmed with you before anything ships, and tracking appears in the app once the carrier provides it.
If a shipped card arrives in worse condition than its recorded grade, email support@holohunt.app with the open ID and photos and we will make it right. The grading basics guide explains how to look a card over when it lands.
Checking a rip yourself
Before you spend, each pack commits to a server seed by publishing its hash. Your receipt prints that hash, your client seed, the nonce and the manifest hash, word for word. You can change your client seed. After the server seed rotates it is revealed, and anyone can recompute the pull from those inputs. The verifier on the homepage runs the HMAC-SHA256 check in your browser and sends nothing anywhere. Same inputs, same answer, on any machine.
THE RULES THAT DON'T BEND
- 18+ and United States only, subject to local rules.
- No cash-out. Stamps buy cards and shipping, nothing else.
- Odds are shown before you pay. Nothing in a pack is guaranteed.
- HoloHunt is unofficial and not affiliated with The Pokémon Company.
